Rope Characteristics

Maxibraid Plus is a double braided rope constructed of an inner load bearing core of UHMPE® fiber. The polyester outer sleeve protects the strength member from abrasion. The UHMPE fiber has the highest strength to weight ratio of any synthetic or natural fiber and has stretch characteristics similar to wire. The UHMPE core is coated with Maxijacket™ prior to being overbraided for added toughness.

Maxibraid Plus is identified by red and blue strands braided into the sleeve structure. The date of manufacture is denoted by coloured yarn between the core and the sleeve.

Dielectric Strength

The maximum allowable leakage for new dry Maxibraid is 1.0 milliamperes at 60K DC Volts when tested in accordance with Yale Cordage Test Method DTP-185. Caution: Absorbed and entrained moisture or impurities will dramatically increase a rope's conductivity.

Maxibraid Plus is made to Yale Cordage Specification #YCI-MBP-062
